Summer is approaching and we take the opportunity to give you info on what happens this year.

Marika Hedemyr − Productions & Grants 2011

This spring, Marika Hedemyr has made two new works. She worked as achoreographer in Masthuggsteaterns's review and audience hit The Threepenny Opera. The premiere was in March and the show played the entire spring of 2011. Read more at www.masthuggsteatern.se.
She has also staged Next Stop, Revisited as the final production for Angeredsgymnasiet's professional graduate dance students. The piece, dance theater originally created for Crowd Co in 2005, was adapted to eight young dancers and was performed at Atalante in May 2011.
And - Marika Hedemyr has been awarded the Arts Grants Committee Working Grant 2011!

Minutes 2.0 has performed this spring around Sweden, and is included in Danscentrum Väst's touring scheme Dansexpressen in the fall of 2011. Come and see Minutes 2.0 with dancers Josephine Gray and Franky Lorenzo at the following locations this summer, free admission. Humorous dance theater as a cracking pace depicts working life situations of collegial cooperation, competition, success, gender roles, crisis and celebration.

In 2011 Marika Hedemyr carry out a pre study for the project WHO IS EXOTIC?, funded by Kulturkontakt Nord. The aim is to initiate a debate and problematize issues of identity, culture and nationality. The idea, which was born when Hedemyr and Noël met in Gothenburg Dance and Theatre Festival in August 2010, is to have two performances on similar themes, but from different cultural and national perspectives, go on joint tour. Participants in the pre-study are choreographers Marika Hedemyr (Swe), Kettly Noel(Haiti / Mali), Karim Tonsy (Egypt / USA). Marika will visit Karim Tonsy in Chicago in June 2011.


Marika Hedemyr / Crowd Company participates in the Fair Project 2011 run by Loco Motion in Stockholm, and whose purpose is to promote Swedish choreography by visiting international meetings, fairs and festivals. Marika will personally be traveling this year to the IETM-meeting ”Who’s story is it?” in Stockholm, Sweden in April 2011, ISPA Congress ”Groundbreaking” in Toronto Canada 14 to 18 June 2011, Dance Festival Montpellier Danse in Montpellier, France, 3−9 July 2011 .
